Office Wardrobe Makeover

After a change in dress code at the office, I decided to go on a mission to revamp my business closet with a budget of $500.00. I went on a quest to find some staple pieces and realized that you can make a huge variety of outfits office appropriate by simply adding a blazer. Anne Taylor is by far the best place to find classic pieces, but I was also surprised to find some great selections online at Express, Gap and Piperlime. To top it off, these amazingly comfortable Ralph Lauren Black Heals were waiting for me at Marshals for $40.00!

Inspiration – my mother

I couldn’t help but laugh when I saw this tutorial for the messy “French Bun” on Cup of Jo. This is the hairstyle my mom, French as it gets, perfects. Effortless, messy, but incredibly poised… here‘s the how.

tada!

gladiator sandals

I absolutely love gladiator sandals and now that it’s perfect weather for them, I am so pumped to wear mine. So many more styles this season than the last, and I’m especially dreaming about these Siegersons… sigh.

But I am still in love with my Jeffrey Campbells…

Here are a couple more options if you like the look. It’s not for everyone, but it’s for me!

“Moi Je Joue”

watch?v=js3t51n3EQc&feature=relatedI remember growing up and listening to my mom’s Brigitte Bardot Cd’s.  Her style and beauty give me a great sense of admiration. Brigitte is a style icon, a sex symbol and the image of femininity in the 1950’s in France and worldwide and I grew up thinking just that. Here’s to you, my French Marilyn Monroe.

Ready the House

I am really loving the prints from the ladies at “Ready The House” from good old Lancaster county, not to mention the beautiful photography! The attention to detail and mixture of old school amish county and modern decore is absolutely fantastic! And guess what, they will be selling their beautiful products which range from cards, recipe prints and more this Friday(.. and every 2nd Friday of the month until September) from 5:00-9:00pm on Sturgis Lane in Lititz, PA. Support local artists and “like” them on facebook! ;)

Sosie…

I really enjoy coming across online shops that are filled with affordable and unique clothing. I think we can all agree that online shopping has become the next best thing and that it’s much easier to shop from your living room than in stores. I found Sosie through one of Song of Style‘s latest posts in which she wore the most amazing metallic skirt.
